It’s time for this month’s language chuckle.
Recently, I asked my husband about weddings onboard the ship. You see, a few times the Captain was unable to perform the ‘ceremony’ so my husband had to step in and do it.
I asked him on what legal authority did he have to join a couple in marriage? His response was priceless. He said…
“If a couple wants to get legally married onboard, they must bring an officiator on the ship to perform this task, however, if they just want to renew their vowels, the Captain can do this because it is only symbolic.”
Heehee. I have to admit, I got a good laugh at my husband’s expense and am looking forward to our 10th anniversary when we can think about renewing our vowels together too 🙂
