Mosaic madness

Finally, after my course in Ravenna two years ago, I have ordered my hammer and chisel. Yes, that’s right, I am going to try and make another mosaic only this time I’m flying solo without my teacher to correct all my mistakes. I have to say, there is something very therapeutic about smashing shit to pieces with a hammer in the name of artistic expression 🙂

Since I was without a driving license for six months, I missed all my soccer practices and have all this pent up energy that needs to be released. Hey, by the way, did anyone watch that debacle last night with Uruguay vs. Italy? What a messy game and the memes on Facebook today are priceless!

This is my favourite one…

Suarez does have big teeth after all and my other favourite was about him wanting some Italian food, hahaha. But it was a truly crap game to watch. The Uruguay team were so aggressive that I actually started feeling sorry for the Italians.

Anyway, I have a new Panda to drive (her name is Betty, as in how much do you want to bet on how long it will take Mama (or me) to take out a tail light?, hee hee. I know, I’m terrible…I better go back to smashing some rocks. I will post the final project in about six months because I think this is going to take a very long time. I have a lot of aggression and menopausal issues to work out.

I interviewed a really interesting mosaic guy in Genova. His little shop is located on Via Di Scurreria and he’s Egyptian but moved to Genova years ago, married locally, and has a family here. He’s quite approachable and loves mosaic so much.

    • I need to meet this guy! I am having troubles with my mosaic already 😦 it was a few years ago when I took my course and I cannot seem to locate certain products. Any chance I could get an intro sometime ?

Of course 🙂 I arrive in Genova tomorrow and stay a couple of weeks. I’m happy to meet up with you and wander by and say hi to him. I’ll be on email so let’s stay in touch and work out when suits you.
