I have finally passed the Italian theory exam for my driver’s license! This has been weighing heavy on my shoulders for literally years. Yes, I cried tears of joy! I think in fact, this has been one of the most difficult periods of my life. This is of course stage one and now I must take driving lessons and pass the driving test. But, in my eyes, the most difficult part is behind me. 🙂
Yesterday, I was on the bus and the bus driver was actually reading his text messages while driving! I was really tempted to secretly video tape him and post it on youtube but I doubt my iPad would not be noticed and then I could possibly cause a traffic accident if I pissed off the driver.
Anyway, now that I have all this extra free time on my hands again I am at a loss of what to do with myself. I have been so consumed with studying that every waking moment was dedicated to it. But for now…I will just do a happy dance in my new shoes* and figure out the rest another day…
*And speaking of new shoes, here they are! I confess, I actually bought these babies back in January when all the sales were on. Being ever so practical, I stepped into this shop with a friend just to have a look around (inspiration to study you see) and these were beaming back at me and they were marked down 50%. I tried them on and they were like a slice of heaven on my feet! I love the classic design and they are 100% Italian – Fratelli Rossetti, and the best quality. I had my friend Joanne take them home with her with instructions not to give them back to me until I passed the exam.
If you are wondering about the bribe, well my husband bribed me with these shoes and told me that if I studied hard and passed the exam he would buy me some designer shoes. I had visions of Christian Louboutins, Jimmy Choos and Gucci dancing in my head but aside from drooling over the latest fashions when I saw these Rossetti’s I knew I found a classic shoe that I would love forever.
Maybe I can barter with my husband for a matching handbag after I pass the driving part of the exam. After all, I did get the shoes at half price 🙂
