The repair that takes forever

One of the things I admire about Italians is that they don’t have a throw away culture. They buy good quality stuff and still have that mentality of fix it instead of replace it.

The problem with this is that it takes forever to get anything done here and that includes repairs or ordering spare parts. I have been waiting over a month for a new tube for my vacuum. You can just imagine the dust bunnies under my bed right now!

The men in the shop are ancient and it is painful to watch them move even. I think thick road tar moves faster. They never answer their phone so twice I have had to drop in on them to ask where my new tube is, which by the way I already paid for. Today I went back and insisted that they give me my old one back…just so I can tape the thing together temporarily and clean my freakin’ house! Do you know they gave me attitude about it and also requested that I bring it back when my new one comes! Sheesh!

Okay, rant over…back to work!
