I’m grateful for the fact that not only did I NOT buy a monthly bus pass but that I also have a light work schedule and have not been too affected by the four day bus strike here. Living in Italy, checking the news for bus and train strikes is a way of life but this past Tuesday they decided on a wildcat strike and it is still going on!
Mama has my car and I have hers but I don’t like her car and so I decided today to walk to the store. It has finally stopped raining and I could really use the exercise anyway. But what I am a bit perplexed by is that the people of Genoa seem to be rallying for the bus people! The government want to privatize the system and everyone is against it. If it is anything like the trains then I can sort of see why, but I am not a big fan of the AMT bus system. These guys drive like maniacs, go on strike once a month and after 8:00 pm I can walk home faster than by the time a bus shows up at my stop.
On another note, I still need to get my Italian driver’s license and it is becoming more and more critical that I do soon. My husband even tried to bribe me with designer shoes. He said I needed an incentive to study, lol. My study book has been dusted off so perhaps this ploy might work! Lets hope so 🙂
I have no more distractions or crooked towels to straighten out. My husband left at 4:30 this morning. I’m on my own again, just me and Coco for the next four months. And with all these bus strikes and no Panda I have no other option but to study. Yeah, ummm so wish me luck
