Yep, I’m still emptying boxes…
There’s a hornet nest brewing under the table and I’m wondering if I should save that tidbit of news for my sister’s boyfriend to deal with. It’s Saturday, and I can finally say that I got my groove back and feel normal again after that awful camp. I’m officially on holiday and only plan to go back to the city for day trips and even those I will keep to a minimum.
I drove into Santa Margherita yesterday and spent a whopping €75 on food and booze. Geez, when did I get to have such an expensive lifestyle? With any luck, I will not need to make another trip to the supermarket for at least two weeks. And if I run out of food, I’ll just get drunk and forget I was hungry, heehee.
The boxes just never seem to end, but I am enjoying finding more interesting things that need a bit of clean up or repair. It has become a bit of a hobby. The other day I looked into a pile of junk that seemed to be cast aside as uninteresting rubbish and look at what I found (it took a lot of silver polish to get it this way):
This is solid silver. Three flasks and four shot glasses all neatly tucked into a round leather pouch that zips closed. Each cap has a different colour to represent a different liquid…bourbon, scotch or gin? If I was a skier I could make a lot of friends on the slopes with this beauty.
So, if you’ll excuse me, I have a bottle of brass cleaner calling my name. Stay tuned for the next discovery. I know I’m on vacation, but silly me, I actually like doing this sort of thing, haha.
