Never before had I seen these golden trees called “Mimosa”. In fact, the only Mimosa I was familiar with was the one that comes in a glass and makes me giddy! But I must say that seeing these golden miracles of early Spring also make me quite giddy too. Their fragrance is intoxicating and they’re a welcome sight after a cold and grey winter.
The day was fresh and the sun welcome on our faces. Not a traditional hike but more like a stroll up a hill with gelato as our reward. Now, that’s my kind of hike 🙂
I rarely take my camera out these days because I already have thousands of photos that are eating up my hard-drive, but Spring is such a spectacular season in Liguria that it would be seriously negligent of me not to capture all of this magic for you. This backyard pic makes me want to set up an easel and some paint…how about you?
My bucket list keeps getting longer and longer with activities that have me never leaving Italy!
One of my items is to take a painting course outside in a scene just like this one. Another is to hug Cashmere goats and make wool, which by the way, is now open for their Spring 2013 workshop which includes knitting classes with this special wool.
Anyway, I digress…it’s supposed to rain all week here so today is as good a day as any to feel inspired with pretty pictures of warm weather which is just around the Ligurian corner. And, if you are reading this from Canada, well Spring is just around the corner and a few blocks left 🙂
If you still want more photos and the Italian version written by Dear Miss Fletcher, I suggest you click here. Miss Fletcher is a personal friend (we did this trip together in my magic Panda) and she has a wealth of knowledge and history about Liguria that if you can read Italian you must add to your reader files.
Buona Primavera Tutti!
Pieve Alta is the best place to see mimosa tree, it was a lovely day!
Thank you Leah, a big hug!
I love Mimosa trees and they come in several lovely shades and one of my neighbors has one in their backyard that blooms every spring and I too am looking forward to spring being right around the corner. Lin and Major lhsh@sc.rr.com
