Two fats cats and get me an elevator!

Usually when we are on vacation there is a carefree attitude and go with the flow mentality that goes along with it. That’s why I have never been too bothered by the lack of air conditioning in the little Panda I drive. But, as the world turns, reality and day-to-day living brings on such questions as why don’t I have a/c in the car? Especially when I am taking Coco somewhere and there’s a traffic jam and it’s 30 degrees out! The poor fluff ball panted all the way home and then hid under the bed for an hour.

Now it’s already the end of October and those hot days have suddenly stopped and we have jumped straight into our typical Genova weather of wind and rain. I own at least five umbrellas and some days wonder why I even bother as the wind carries me off my feet like Mary Poppins!

Although these days I doubt it because according to one of my repeat students, I have gained a considerable amount of weight, i.e. I got fat, OR…I must be pregnant! Great! It’s a good thing I haven’t got a body complex you little turd!

But back to the basics for a moment. I never realized how much I take these top four things for granted:

  1. Central heating – when searching for an apartment this is kinda important to ask about.
  2. Air conditioned cars. – When driving a 6 kilo cat around in 30 degree temperatures this is kinda nice to have.
  3. Elevators! Again, while apartment searching you would be amazed at how many 7 storey apartments don’t have elevators here!
  4. My girlish figure. – Sigh. I guess 2 gelato a day was pushing my luck but I don’t have sex for 4 month intervals so cut me some slack would ya! (And for the record, no, I did not try to explain this to my 11-year-old student)
I guess Coco is not the only fat cat in the house anymore : )
