Harvesting Olive oil vacations…does Popeye know?

Occasionally, my husband and I dream about running our own B&B. I say dream because I know it’s a lot of work to run your own business and quite honestly I’m not sure I like to work that much! But in some ways I think it would be kinda fun.

I remember like it was yesterday, the thrill I felt the first time we picked olives and made our own oil.

(Here’s some old photos from my archives to share with you) The fresh air and exercise were exhilarating not to mention the excitement I felt when I saw the precious oil come out of the press. I thought to myself, this would be a great vacation concept.

Now that travelling is so commonplace people
are seeking more adventure and cultural experiences than ever before. People travel across the globe to study Yoga, learn to cook Italian food and so on, so why not offer them the experience of harvesting their own organic oil?

I wish I could say that we are opening our own B&B and offering this great adventure but unfortunately that dream is still a bit on hold. Perhaps one day it will happen. But in the meantime I did find this website that does offer such vacations and wouldn’t you know it they’re almost fully booked!

Just goes to show ya, I may be blonde but I got some good ideas Popeye!
