Triangles? Moongates? What’s next?

The Bermuda triangle is a mystery that I can remember hearing about when I was just a kid. Planes and boats disappeared and UFO’s were sited near Bermuda. Honestly, I don’t know why in the 1960’s it was a huge media frenzy and now you hardly hear anything about this mysterious “triangle in the sea”. Obviously on the ship I have passed through this ‘triangle’ before but when I knew I was going to Bermuda the topic came up again.

As you can see, I am still here and lived to tell the tale…we even drank champagne on the bridge to celebrate Easter and all we spotted was a very big fish! The photo on the left was taken while on a boat tour of famous Bermudian homes. The crystal clear water was very inviting but it wasn’t that kind of tour.

I snapped quite a few photos (my husband has often lovingly referred to me as a ‘photofreak’), but yet I still don’t have a photoblog. So, I will do my best to cram some photos in my posts just cuz I can : )

Bermuda was lovely, but we didn’t get to see much of it. I only did the famous houses tour because my husband had to cancel our plans for a work situation and I ended up on a boat tour to pass the time while he worked. The tour was free because I am the Staff Captain’s wife so I just took what was offered to me and tipped the tour guide.

I don’t know where to start because I really wanted to see the famous caves, but that is a long story that ended without caves. So, here are some other tidbits to share about Bermuda that perhaps are not all in the “top tours list”. We docked at the Royal Naval Dockyard. It’s a pretty place with restaurants and shops and also where you can catch a ferry to Hamilton. The Ferry is $3.00 but we ran to the dock and had no time to buy the tokens at the gift shop so we paid exact change to the tune of $4.00 each (we later figured out that we were asked to pay $1 more each for this cash deal!)

In Bermuda there are these round circle arches that you pass through called “Moongates“. I kept calling it a keystone although I have no idea why. We posed under it and did our ‘kiss’ but I was so busy kissing that I forgot to make a wish! Guess I will just have to go back and do it again : )

Then, the what’s next…well, as my luck would have it (aside from not seeing caves cuz hubby had work issues), I went to my apartment today to find a bathroom full of water! Jet lag be damned I’ve got an 8:30 a.m. appointment with a plummer…can I go back to the ship and take Coco with me??? sigh!
