Coffee, Coke and Construction

My morning started off with Coco jumping on my head…this, of course, is nothing new but the cuteness of it all is starting to wear a bit thin on my tired soul. What can I say? I’m a lousy disciplinarian. But I’m not the only one who spoils her. I put her in the other room to go play with Mama for a while and after 30 minutes of her sitting on the other side of my door crying Mama decided it was better to just let her jump on my head!

I had a night off Saturday because I went back up to the country and had all that fresh country air in my lungs and I slept until 9:30 a.m.! Refreshed, I tackled the garden and then at 4:00 p.m. I hiked some 5 kilometers to the Santa Margherita train station. It was a lovely walk along the seaside and I even indulged in a gelato as a reward for my efforts…guess I’m pretty good at spoiling myself too ; )

So, as I was packing up Coco for our journey back to our tiny apartment in the city Mama announces that Coco likes coffee! What?!? What do you mean she likes coffee? She’s a cat, has she been sneaking off to the bar and ordering double espresso behind my back? “No silly, she’s been licking it off my finger and she really likes it.” “Oh, is that all, okay, knock it off!” Do you see my point? No, I didn’t think so…

So we get home and I am once again sleepy and would love a nap but they are outside banging cement machines repairing the courtyard in front. Crap, so much for my nap, I guess I’ll eat lunch and watch the construction dudes scratch their ass and shake their heads because the guy before them obviously fucked something up. Oh wait! Who’s that hot guy? He’s not a sweaty old Italian who hasn’t showered for a month eating garlic sandwiches…hmmm, the entertainment value of this neighbourhood just went up a few notches…especially when he took off his shirt!

I think I’ll skip the nap again tomorrow and have a leisurely lunch…wonder if he’s thirsty and needs a diet coke? : )

Ahem…ladies, you’re welcome:
