Stairway of my life

I’m back in the country again and the weather has been perfect. But the boar have come into the property again and torn up more plants. I think they know I can’t be bothered to drag my lazy butt out of bed at a certain hour and so they just come in and have a snack while I snooze.

Last night they dug up these hosta plants that I have been trying to dig out for years! The roots are so deep into the ground that I finally just gave up and instead, they did the job for me. So maybe having these little critters do a bit of landscaping is not such a bad idea after all!

On another not so fun note, I recently found out that I was bumped from one of my summer camp jobs. I was really looking forward to it but it seems that these picky Italian mother’s have insisted that the owner of the school be present at the camp and so I got bumped off because it didn’t make sense to pay me too. I guess my summer vacation will just have to start sooner, what a pity.

I also thought that my days of documents and government offices were far behind me but apparently not. Seems I have a few more rings of fire to jump through and let’s not even get started on me getting my Italian driver’s permit. I have one year to do the exam and although I have been driving like a maniac all over this country I will still need to show that I can actually drive.

I had to laugh today because I actually saw an Italian who had the perfect space to parallel park go into the space forwards and then mess it all up. All I kept thinking was if they gave this guy a permit to drive this should be a piece of cake! But maybe I should go get the books and start studying just in case…

I put the photo of the staircase here for two reasons. 1. My life is obviously full of it’s ups and downs and I thought it was an appropriate image for this post and 2. My new friend Rose has been asking me to see pics of the inside of this house and well, here you go Rose, this is the staircase that goes up the tower to my bedroom. (FYI: Rose also has a blog, go ahead and click her name and check it out)
