Stripes were never my colour

It’s Friday night and I’m celebrating! Okay, I’m alone, eating popcorn and drinking a glass of Mirto, but I’m happy as a clam and am celebrating! Today it’s official…I am now a resident of Italy and have my very own Carta d’identita. The jail sentence is over. I can’t believe it!

After I got to the car park I was so excited that I even forgot to collect my change for the parking and paid 10 Euro! I don’t care…I’m free and that is all that matters. It has taken two very long years (almost 3 if you count the time I spent here trying to figure it all out before I got married).

No more house arrest, I leisurely strolled downtown in the small village and browsed the market. What a joy it was to not be worrying about anything. Even my feet felt lighter. And, for once, it didn’t rain all day either. Better be careful, I could get used to all this happiness : )

Hooray! I’m really pleased for you. Now get on with enjoying yourself – you’ve got the last few weeks to make up for. 😉

Congrats! That is quite an accomplishment.
