Love ain’t free

I just made an investment in what I refer to as the ‘La Perla Protection Plan’. Yes, you got it, it gets personal! So dad, if you’re reading this, maybe now is a good time to check if there are any John Wayne movies on TV.

Recently, I have had many friends cry on my shoulder about their relationships. In most cases these relationships failed, and usually because it involved another, much younger woman. I’m not saying here that all men are unfaithful or that women are excluded from infidelity. What I am saying here is that I think it’s tough to keep the fires burning over many years together and that it takes work. But what I am also asking here is why? Is it because myself and my friends are all in our 40’s and no longer sexy? Or, is it that we are still sexy, but no longer interested in sex? (For the record, the second seems to be more true than the first!)

Which brings me to my ‘La Perla Plan’. For those of you who don’t know what La Perla is, it is the best and therefore most expensive Italian lingerie. After hearing these horror stories from my friends I got to thinking that I too have gotten a bit comfortable in the relationship but living with his mom is not exactly helping matters! (as I write this I am patiently waiting for a planned weekend together in the country-senza Mama of course) Yes, we don’t see each other as much, but all the more reason to remind each other why we are putting up with these long separations wouldn’t you agree?

I just ventured into a very elite shop and dropped half a month’s salary on underwear! Yikes! But here is the magic in this moment that was quite unexpected and well worth the money….I actually feel sexier too! Which makes me wonder now if I really bought the underwear for him or for me? No matter really, I bought it for “us”.

So ladies and guys too, LISTEN UP! It may seem frivolous to spend a ridiculous amount of money on such things but what costs more in the end…underwear or a divorce lawyer?

That’s money well-spent, I agree. 😀 Sadly I know many people (men and women alike) that stop making an effort, when it comes to their relationship…Which is sad and stupid.

OT: I wanted to thank you for the email you sent me a few days ago…I’m sorry I forgot to reply. I’m in the process of moving out and life is hectic to say the least. Now I know you’re busy enjoying some quality time with your husband (yay!) but maybe we can meet up sooner or later.
