Bugs and other creepy things…

Halloween is approaching and so I thought it would be a good time to feature some of the critters that creep around in Italy’s backyard, or in some cases in the house. If you look at my new header on this blog you will see a praying mantis perched on our olive nets. My husband teases me because he thinks I have a fascination with photographing bugs, but the thing is, they are so big here it’s hard not to be enthralled with them (except of course when I need to attack one with an umbrella in the car!)

So, here are just a few of the critters that managed to stay still long enough to strike a pose:
