I’m back in Italy and have already downed half a bottle of the good stuff. What is it about Italian wine? Even when I buy it in North America it never quite tastes as good as drinking it on European soil! As expected, mama has been busy while I have been gone. Perhaps this is the reason I have already drank half a bottle of wine!
She has yet again, rearranged my clothes and personal belongings and I, once again, am cringing with anxiety that my very expensive and invaluable external drive still works after being carelessly chucked into a pile in a random box! Even though I have expected this, it is still frustrating and jarring, all at once. I am not looking forward to the unpacking of all my stuff because now I do not have any system of where it should go…it has all been moved!!!! Mio Dio! More wine is definitely required before I finish writing this blog post.
It is going on 2 a.m. and of course I am wide eyed and awake! I have transported myself yet again into another dimension. It feels a bit weird to be back after all this time. I suppose because Italy is still my new home so therefore coming back here still feels a bit foreign to me.
My cat Stelle seems to remember me, which is a relief, but I am not sure yet if she is going to snub me anyways just to make a point. I brought her back some catnip, you know, like a peace offering of sorts, so I will let you know how that all works out.
Well, the wine has certainly had a positive effect. I am mellow and don’t really care much about unpacking at the moment. My sister in law kept saying welcome back to reality but I don’t yet believe her…can I just stay in my happy wine induced bubble indefinitely?
