We live high on the hill. The view from our balcony is of the sea and snow capped mountains. My favourite time of day is noon when the churchbells ring in the nearby church.
The unfortunate thing about Genova is that it can be quite a windy city. Not too many homes have central air conditioning and quite honestly I like the fresh breeze that blows in from the sea. But, the wind also whips through the apartment at breakneck speed and if I didn’t overfeed my cat I am sure it would have taken her away with it by now!
The windows and doors are secured with a high tech “brick” to stop them from slamming shut and shattering the door frames. Unfortunately, I have once too often forgot to place the precious brick before flinging my bedroom windows open and now the frame is broken.
My mother in law gets up super early (I don’t). She has decided that it is much more efficient to lock me inside my room than keep the door slightly ajar and risk waking me with her pasta making frenzies in the kitchen!
Today, at 6 am I had to knock on my door to be let out. I’m looking for a new hiding spot for that key…
